    Focus problem in aficio1035

    Hello!
    I am facing a strange problem that after making some copies the prints go out of focus .I have visited client's site more than once but the problem appears after a few 100 copies. scanned image of print outs are attached

    Please advise.

    Okay, list of possible suspects:

    Door switches
    Scan lamp
    SIO drive board
    LD emitter
    LD sync board
    IPU
    BICU
    Controller

    That's pretty much everything I can think of that would cause this, I'm going to go for something to do with the laser unit. Try cleaning the terminals of the memory dimms first tho.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

      it looks like an ld unit problem. try replacing the laser unit from a working machine or if you have extra.

          Probably a safe bet that a machine that old has accumulated a fair bit of dust. Take the laser unit out and give it a good cleaning before you try to replace it, paying special attention to the polygon mirror.
