...please confirm if this resolves your problem.
A tech posted on the Ricoh Tech Forum site about not being able to forward the faxes as PDF to email, even though the bit switches were set. Below is his post upon fixing it (this was on an MPC5502).....

Problem is resolved... yes you can forward a fax to an email as a PDF.
I ended up having to go to the Fax SP modes and under "Ram Clear" I executed the "Reset All Bit Switches" and "Factory Default" then restarted the system.
After reconfiguring the customer info and set up, forwarding to email is now arriving as PDF.
After reviewing the System Parameter List before & after I found 2 bit switches that were different.
SWUSR 15 bit 2 was on and SWIFAX 0F bit 0 was on.
After the reset, they are off and now it's transferring the files correctly.
I looked up these switches in the manual and the first one says "Not Used" and the second one is not even listed, so I don't know exactly why it didn't function correctly but it is now.

I have not tested this yet and don't know when I'll next come across this issue, hoping one of you fine citizens will get a chance. I remember others posting here about this problem, maybe this is the fix. I would suggest skipping the ram clear on the first try and just check the bit switches, maybe all that is needed.
