Re: MP C4500 Strange start-up
Replaced both HDD's and problem went away. One of the HDD's had been damaged in a past life. Thank you to everyone who responded.

Re: MP C4500 Strange start-up
I have to date not come across this on any of our machines.
I know in service mode - under option 6 (Peripherals) you can do a connection check to check if the machine "sees" the finisher.
It might also be worthwhile to reformat the disk in the machine and download the stampdata (as per the FSM) if this model has stamp data to download.
Then give it another try.Leave a comment:

Have found that you can usually get into service mode from an unresponsive m/c by powering up with the side door openLeave a comment:

When you say formatted, did you do it on a PC or directly in the copier?Leave a comment:

MP C4500 Strange start-up
Recently formatted the hard drives on a MP C 4500 and everything came back on line fine. The next day the customer had to restart the machine and the finisher did not reset its position at power on. The copier also did not beep when it came ready. Has anyone heard of this before. Thanks.
