    MPC 400SR damaging drums

Hi, All. I have a M026 that had a small nick in the drum of the K pcu that damaged the cleaning blade causing a streak and spots. I pulled another pretty fresh K PCU/DEV unit from another machine, installed and reinitialized developer. Within one day the drum was so pitted it was causing spots everywhere. I received a new pcu which I installed with the original dev unit and a transfer belt assy, reinitialized the developer. Within 2 hours the drum was severely pitted. There is no leaking developer. There is nothing inside the machine cavity that is out of the ordinary. Developer set was successful. Having new units damaged immediately is not a good thing for any tech. What am I missing? Have any of you guys seen this before?

Is the machine in an environment where there might be some type of dust or corrosive fumes in the air?

    What about color drum units?

I fitted a brand new dev unit and pcu, completely vacuumed all toner from the supply tube. I found some weird particulates in the toner, so I installed a cart from a different lot #. All seems to be good now.
