[Misc] Drum Quenching on Colour Ricohs

Does anyone know how drum quenching is carried out on colour Ricoh mfp's during print cycle?
Is it done by the laser unit or is it just considered unnecessary?

Per service MPC2500/3000 service manual:

Quenching is done by illuminating the whole area of the drum with the laser at the end of
every job

Thanks. I always wondered why there was always a film of toner build-up on drums during a long print run!
