    rfg043463 frimware

    Hi to everyone.
Is there any chance someone could upload this file for me?
    rfg043463.zip
It's the network "frimware" for allowing SMB Win8 on MP C3500/4500. I don't have access on Tessa but do have access on Ricoh Italy.
I can download all standard frimwares of any machine but not any custom/special frimware coz there's isn't any on Ricoh Italy site.
    Thanks and best regards

p.s.: If it's not possible to share it on copytechnet you can also send me a PM. Thanks again.

The firmware is possibly only for US models, which may brick your machine. Instead of waiting why not just set up an FTP folder (built into Windows already and plenty of free alternatives) or a simple email exchange (plenty of free one-click setups around). If your customer doesn't like the idea of a closed exchange or FTP server, remind them that they are just as insecure as SMB.

Thanks but I'm just using it as a workaround. (Ftp server I mean).
But when you educate customers with one mode its difficult to rieducate them. And not anyone is letting me install FileZilla on their PC.
Thanks anyway, will find a way thru as always

It can be made to work using regedit on the Win 8 computer. Check the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2696547

Disabling SMB2 also disables SMB3. This forces the computer to use SMB1.

Has anyone actually tried and had success with this? I've tried it several times just to see, with no joy

Thanks for that, But he calls it a "Ricoh Bizhub c550" machine, so i think it's actually the Konica-Minolta he's referring to. Maybe those play a little nicer with Win 8. (??)

Also, maybe a server environment might behave differently (??). I've only tried it on a Win 8 Pro system.

Are you aware that this rfg number is for remote firmware update not SD card?

Also considering the age of the MP 3500/MP4500, you might want to suggest that the customer buy something new.

                    Re: rfg043463 frimware

As I said I don't have access to Tessa so the filename was gathered looking around in the forum. I do have the files for MP C2500/3000 and it works fine in Win8. (rfg055925.zip)

So I was wondering for the MP C3500/4500 file, but anyway. I do kow the other solutions and have implemented them as a workaround but it seems to me that I'm doing it the wrong way as Ricoh has made a firmware to cure this problem.
I don't think Ricoh has made it only for the US part as the firmware for MP C2500/3000 is working here in Europe.

Thanks for all the suggenstions and help given.

p.s.: If you talk to a customer to upgrade the machine here in Italy he will rather kill you then letting you do it these hardy times
