Accessing @Remote appliance after Browser & JAVA update

After a company update on my laptop, I can't get into the @Remote appliance service port using a crossover anymore. I never get the Certificate warning, even after lowering all of the usual security options that have worked in the past.

I've tried Firefox & Chrome + 2 other tech's laptops, but no luck. My thoughts are to blame a JAVA update, but I'm not sure.

I just accessed it about a month ago, but the company that purchased the account has revamped the subnets again and I'm at a loss as to how to change the settings.

    Any & all help welcomed!

When you say lowering all the security options..Have you also lowered the ones in the Java Control panel? I believe it's set to high by default. The 3 choices are Very High, High, and Medium. I had an issue that required me to put in a site in the site exception list or Java was blocked.

In Firefox, check the Add-ons Manager and make sure that the Java plugin hasn't been disabled. Even with the newest version of Java 1.7.51, Firefox will set the plugin not to run.

I have the JAVA set at Medium, but didn't try adding the IP to the JAVA exception list. I also haven't changed any of the certificate settings under the Advanced tab.

Not sure why I haven't played looser with it, since it's only my laptop and the Appliance in the loop. Probably because I'm not well versed on what exactly I'm changing with the different settings.

I'm not sure if the issue's Java but here are some general issues I've run into regarding Java.
If you have a 64 bit OS you may need both versions of Java installed (32 bit and 64 bit).

I've had some installs of Java corrupted so that java was not in the Windows path. Meaning Windows couldn't find it. From a command prompt type path and see if java shows up. If not uninstall reboot and reinstall.

          Long Shot..
I have some older Java apps that wouldn't run with Java ver. 7 on Windows 7. My work around was to go to the Java folder on the C drive. My apps used the 32 bit version of Java so it was in C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jre7\bin. Locate the file "javaw.exe". Right click on it and and select properties. From the compatibility tab set it to run in XPSP3 compatibility mode. That worked for me. From the browser I believe "javaws.exe" is used but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't know if any of this will help but.....
