MP6002 Front Dev Bushings Leaking at 625k

Call was for toner spill, and sure enough the inside of the front cover was coated - you know what THAT means! PCU trough was overflowing with toner. Also notice a nice little puddle of developer on the waste tone bottle slide, and on the frame in the reg area. PM kit and bushings on order. I'm gonna need a bigger vacuum.

how many pages were on the PM count, thats a 300k pm machine with developer supposedly at 350k. Which i just do developer with the 300k stuff. If it had 625k on it without being pm'd i wouldnt be surprised that toner and developer would be flying around in it. On the older models i used to replace the rear developer seal every other pm or so, mainly to keep from rebuilding feed units from developer leaking onto them.

well, we have a PM cycle of 600K on these machines, and they can do it with no probs, except for the Hotroller and web, but we do change each pm (600K) the dev unit bushings. The topic starter did have some luck the leak is at the front, if you have a leak at the rear side the feed units get contaminated with developer, and that means replacement...

Didn't check the history to see if/when it had been PMed previously. I just printed out the PM counter sheet, so I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't, given the condition of the machine..... This machine has been in a public school for under a year. We are aware of the rear dev seals leaking on the older 9060, 8060, 8055, etc., and we all carried kits to rebuild the rear of the feed units. This is the second front seal leak we've seen at our dealership in the last couple of months, no reports of the rear seals leaking - yet.

Think your pushing your luck with a 600K PM cycle. While 350K is a bit conservative I wouldn't like to see them go past 450K. Besides the toners separation unit regularly craps out at under 400K as the mylar paddles fall of and the brush turns into a lump of coal.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

The service manual says its 300k for pcu cleaning parts blade, brush, and charge, drum itself is a million plus and 350 on the developer. We try to stick to the manuals without letting them go to far over.
