    1035/45 charge rollers leaving lines.

I have been going through a lot of charge rollers right and left.
I can clean it and 2 weeks later I get the line back.
I replace it and 4 weeks later I get a different line.
I have reduced the toner level by running a couple of skyshots before I set up the DV.
    Hasn't helped.
I vacume out the cleaning unit each call.
I am using OEM toner and DV.
Non-OEM toner and DV sucks on this machine.
    Any other ideas?????
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

You won't get lines on the charge roller unless the cleaning blade is bad or the drum has lines worn in it allowing toner to get by the cleaning blade. Usually you will need to replace both.
Don't take that toner with me!

      New drum and blade.
This is happening shortly after doing PMs.
After changing or cleaning charge roller the line moves.
      Any mods?

What is in there now that cleans the roller? Do you have the cleaning roller/brush (G0652230)?

There is a TSB on this #6, that talks about changing out the pad and adding the mod (B0049800). Even though these mods exist, sometimes they don't always work as planned, so you'll have to determine this on your own.

When I used to work on these machines, I didn't really have problems with lines, until they changed the charge roller. They would go 150K. But, I changed out the side, entrance and dv entrance seals a lot.

Make sure that the drum entrance seal and felt side seals are in good shape. Have you tried a different drum unit? Along these lines I had a Sharp ar507 that was eating up drums, and when I changed out the drum assembly, the problem went away.

            Not using setting powder.
I use toner from old blade and the hopper to prime the drum.

You almost always have to change the roller and the blades especially when you change the drum. All that stufdf wears together and it's out of balance if you don't replace them as a set.

Schooltech may be on to something. The drum units with the older style cleaning pad instead of the roller brush can become contaminated on the pad which would then transfer to the charge roller. We have modified all of our units in the field with the roller brush.
