mp 171 make into a printer

    [Misc] mp 171 make into a printer

    Is there any way to make a plain 171 so it can print and scan? It appears the controller is there, what do you need to do? Anyone?

      Can't do it.

      The printer version is a different model.

          Actually, the MP171 (D067/D072) can be upgraded to print/scan but not fax, the MP171F (D068) cannot be upgraded to print/scan. Check the product code on the serial plate to confirm what type you have.

          The print/scan kit is EDP 414932, otherwise you can look in the parts manual and order the parts individually.

              Sorry, I forgot about that. Been more than a few years...

              I remember getting the wrong model where print and scan were required... guess it musta been an F.
