[Error Code] Ricoh MP9000 error code SC487

    Hi Guys.

Just wondering if anyone has come accross an SC487 error code on a Ricoh MP9000. It relates to the toner recycle mechanism but not sure which part. So far I have spent nearly a whole day stripping down the rear of the machine to get at the toner recycle area and have cleaned it thoroughly, but with no result. It still comes up with the error code immediately when machine is powered up. All the augers and moving parts in the pipes move freely by hand but there is something still preventing the error resting. Any help would be most appreciated. Regards to all.

There is a belt in the back of the machine behind the transfer belt assembly that does a half twist while running this drives off the waste. This same belt assembly has a photointeruptor with a disc that flags the sensor. The sensor will be dirty as the disc from time to time will rub and or dust from the belt driving fouls up the sensor.
    Hope it helps.

This would be true if the machine was a MP8000 or MP9001 high volume copier. The MP9000 (B234) is a Production Machine, basically the same machine as the Pro 906EX (D101) with a few minor changes.

My bad thanks for the correction i failed to read the model.
Then its a blockage in the waste disposal tubes in the rear of the machine.

A lot of people make the same mistake with the MP9000. They just think that it is the predecessor to the MP9001. Prior to the MP9001, the 90 ppm models were Production Machines. They only started to use the Pro designation with the D101,D102,D103. I think to help prevent confusion. Then again we are talking about Ricoh.

reset SC-487 by SP 2950-001 to 0 and cycle power off and on.
