    RICOH MP3350 tray lift problem

    Hey All,
I have a customer who has a fairly new Ricoh mp3350 which all of a sudden, tray two won't feed if it is full.
I found that the machine will lift the paper then reverse it down to below the feed roller by about 1cm and non feed jams if it is full, yet if it is half full, no problem. paper stays touching the paper feed roller.
I've tried switching sensors around to see if i can change the fault. - no change.
I tried tensioning the lift spring to see if it was losing tension? - no good.
    Switched paper trays, no difference.
Played with sp's that control the paper height reverse time etc. still faults.
Was wondering if anyone has come across this or has any ideas?

    Thanks for you time.

Just a thought, but try setting SP 1912 to 3 (sets the tray size as opposed to allowing the size selector in the end fence to do so). The paper detection sensor raises or lowers the lift motor once it has actuated the lift sensor during tray lift. It bases the decision to raise or lower the stack based on the size detected in the tray and it does so after it has detected that paper has reached the p/u roller. I'm not real familiar with the model but I've based this on the manual.

Shot in the dark, worth a try, though.

You also might want to check the coupling in the machine for the paper lift. It is a plastic piece that can crack if the tray is over filled. I've seen this on several of the previous models.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.

Try to adjust the pressure of your separation roller or the hieght of your paper. This correct misfeeding problem.Moved the separation roller gear to the right to increase the pressure or adjust the paper feed hieght sensor.Maybe this help.

              Got It!!

              Thanks For The Help Guys,

I found that the side fence feeler sensor in the back of the machine was slightly out of it's bracket, causing the machine to think it was A5 paper.
The catch was that the tray was set to A4 under user tools and always displayed A4 even though it was thinking it was A5. Although All Other Sizes were fine.

I've got exact the same problem as Dorian described!

I tried to look for the sensor in the back of the machine, but I couldnt find any sensors that were out of their brackets.
I also tried to search for a manual, but I cant find any that helps me or describes the whole machine and all the parts.

Can anyone tell me where to find that sensor?

When you've got the back off the machine, ask someone to shove the offending tray back in and watch to the left of the machine, you'll see the actuator on the side fence move in and trigger a sensor. That's the one.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                  Hit it.
