    aficio 551 700 1055 psu failure

Some of you, sure have seen many aficio 551 700 1055 with little dark panel, or when copying it goes a little dark, this is a power supply malfunction caused by a drop in 24 v lines.....did someone found how to correct this?, what to change in psu,? .....Ricoh made a bullettin about this, but the resistance they put don´t change nothing...sometimes the psu fails in correcting the 24v, and sometimes it work well...... , when it fails the panel goes a little dark or sometimes it jams or make different sc´s ...like poligon mirror motor sc.....etc.

Ricoh was not specific with what component of the PSU to change to resolve this issue. However, if you call a board repair vendor, such as Nationwide or the like, they have techs that will tell you which circuit and which component in the circuit caused the problem. You have to ask real nice though and treat them with a good deal of respect. Used this method once to resolve a problem on a Canon......

I agree with the previous post. You can call a national copier board repair company, and 'nicely' ask for some info; they very well may let you know what component(s) are going bad. I've usually only called a few places to get in-stock used boards to swap quickly.
