    MP C4500

I'm not a technician. But, I have to diagnose a quality printing issue from distance (the customer lives in an island and there is not a technician near by. He should call a technician or transport the machine with boat). He sent me some scans of prints. The attached shows the main problem. What does it cause it? The circumference of the related "part" is 58.3 mm (diameter 18.5 mm). Which part does it have this diameter?

18.5 is too small to be a drum and too large to be the charge roller, fusing belt or pressure roller. Possibilities are the transfer current apply rollers in the ITB assembly, the development roller or the paper transfer roller.

I confused a bit, because the above page supposed to be black. But I see only cyan and a little magenta. He didn't print machine test pages, he printed pages from the computer (30% each black, cyan, magenta and yellow). I will wait till Monday to ask about the prints. Btw, cyan and magenta are these. In the magenta I see the same pattern as in the above page, I suppose it means the developer run out.

Without more information, its kind of hard to tell. But if it was me, based on your most recent pictures I'd at least take along a magenta PCU (drum and developer), it kind of looks like the magenta developer is depleted and that is kind of hard on the drum. I'd probably bring the yellow and cyan too, if the picture in your first post was supposed to be black. Process black is not as good as regular black, but it shouldn't be that bad.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to bring the the paper transfer roller like slimslob suggested for the voids in the picture in your first post.
One kind of off the wall question, is it really warm and humid where that machine is located? If so, it might not hurt to bring along an unopened ream of paper that you can load into the machine in case the paper they are using has absorbed too much moisture.
Hope you can enjoy the trip to the island. I haven't taken a boat ride to an island for a while, but back in the day I thought it was OK.

No, I won't go to the island. I will just try to diagnose the problems from distance.
He told me the voids disappeared. It seems only the magenta developer depleted.
Btw, is there any chart of defective distances (opc, developer, pcr, fuser rollers, etc) for the C4500?

I haven't seen one for this model, sorry.
