Connection test in User Tools - System Settings - File Transfer does not mean that the MFP is able to authenticate. Many email services are starting to require TLS/StartTLS authentication which most MFPs are not able to use. Also, some ISP's block all normal SMTP ports to any server except their own. One option that still works is to use a GoDaddy email account for SMTP GoDaddy's email server, secureserver, com, can use port 80, with or without SSL. ISP cannot block port 80 as it is the port used for internet.

Make sure Network Support and Web Support firmwares are both up to date.

Also, make sure that the DNS is entered and the primary DNS is either a local DNS or the ISPs. The secondary and tertiary DNSs can be Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, which sometimes help. If you can't connect to mail.gmx.com, then try the IP 212.227.17.184 although this may change at a later date, it is worth trying to see if it is a DNS issue.

    Thanks for the quick answers.

    Its definitely a MP C300.

i've tried these settings, they dont work for me.
I also have the Service Information PDF from Ricoh, doesnt realy help...

Since 2014, GMX and a couple more E-Mail Provider require encription. (E-Mail made in Germany)

    GMX does not require encryption.
All that needs to be entered is:

Administrator email address: whatever you like
    Smtp server: smtp.gmx.us
    Port #: 587
    SMTP Authenticatication: On
    Smtp Auth email: xxx@gmx.us
    Smtp Auth user name: xxx@gmx.us
    Smtp Auth password: xxx

...And of course the proper DNS, GW, and SM

    Another link for the certificate.

How to configure SSL_TLS for Scan to Email.pdf

Or you can try ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM using Port 25, but you'll probably have to change the setting on their account to "Don't always require SSL".

If you model listed is correct, see the attached. If the model is actually MP C3000, it is too old to support SMTP over SSL.

I am using GMX and it is very easy to use. Make sure to test the connection of smtp and your DNS.
