Scanning to a MAC OS 10.9 Mavericks and 10.10 Yosemite

Has anyone succeeded here with SMB or FTP scanning? SMB on 10.9 is my priority.

If so, would appreciate details, if not would appreciate just a verification.

This is a Ricoh Aficio C305

Currently trying to connect 10.9 Mavericks not working with SMB. Port 139 is not open.

    Thanks in advance.

You can turn on FTP server for Mac OSX with:
    Code:
    sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
You can change the FTP directory by editing the /etc/ftpd.conf file.

By default it will continue running until the daemon is turned off:
    Code:
    sudo -s launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

Thanks Ruben - I will hang on to this info. I'm hoping I can use SMB in MAC 10.9 but not sure.

Depending on the model, you may need to update the Network Support and System/Copy firmwares to support 10.9. I do not know if there is any 10.10 support as of yet. Some models can only support up to 10.7 and won't be updated, due to their age. For example, MP C2050/2550 can only scan SMB upto 10.8.

It's a C305, and we regularly update firmware to enable scanning to Windows 8 and 2012. Maybe this will work as well.

          Thanks,

The C305 firmware only mentions 10.7 and 10.8, needing Network Support v12.28 and System/Copy v3.13 or higher. They might work with 10.9 and 10.10, but I have tried myself so I am not sure.

How do you get the straight line between SMB" & scutil?

                Thanks,

I've outlined a change to how the OS handles packet signing, see attached.

EDIT: I see it has already been mentioned. Sorry, scanned by too fast.
