I hava a new MPC 5503 by a customer, now i tried to update the latest Firmware from Ricoh (System 1.21), and....surprise....printing the smc data i saw that the System on this machine is on 3.08!.....i called Ricoh support and they told me that the Firmware 3.08 is only for Android Panel machines and NOT for italian market, (i'm in Italy), now my question....is that possible, that the machine works fine??, and can you give me the latest Firmware for this machine??, example for the U.S market, on my italian account i found only the 1.21 System and so on....

Hi Yes it is possible to load the smart screen firmware onto a normal ops panel machine . Ricoh say it will cause strange op issues ..the firmware 1.21 should be ok

yes it is possible that the NOP will work with SOP frimwar, I've installed the SOP before doing the frimwar and had it work with some limitations. you should put the correct frimwar on the machine for the panel it has..... Or you could have some weirdo things possibly happen........

NOP = normal op panel, SOP = smart op panel.........Ricoh terminology.........
