MPC4000 can't login WEB IAMGE MONITOR & can't Print from any PC but can scan

    Dear All,

Good Day, currently install 1 unit used MPC4000 with print, scan, fax in customer office (small size). all thing working fine except the Network printing & Web image monitor having problem.

we did try to exchange the controller broad with another working unit but still the same, the customer controller broad test at office and no problem at all.

SP5828091 WEB is on. did try on network SMB scanning with no problem. reinstall driver, change network cable, update firmware but still the same .... can't print & log in web image monitor.

any other way we can look in to it .

    thank.

Disconnect network cable and ping the machine.if it responds you have another device with same ip address

Check SP 5985-001. It should be set to 1. If it is set to 2, scan will work but WIM and a number of other network functions requiring authentication will not.

Check if access control is enabled. Printout a configuration page.check at the end of page if has a ip range at access control section. open a telnet section and put the current ip address of the machine. Log with admin user and blank psswd. Will apear on console something like msh>.type "access flush" on screen without quotes and you're good to go.

Check the SNMP community name. Must be "public" and "admin" with Ip addresses 0.0.0.0

Not sure why you think this will affect printing or WIM !!

Have you checked if IEEE 802.11X Authentication for Ethernet is set to " Active " if it is you need to set to " Inactive "

This will affect for network printing and TWAIN scan only.

IEEE 802.11x merely turns off the CAT5 jack. You still have full network functionality if the wireless interface is installed and you are connected through it.

You can't print and scan from PC through network.
You right, my advice isn't for this case.
In my opinion, CRISTIAN MULLER wrote the right advice (I had same problem).

I think what he means if someone enabled the wireless authentication unbeknownst to the tech then WIM and printing are disabled (all of the settings will look normal). Had this occur last week at the State of Michigan on two different mfp's in different buildings at the same time. Their IT for some reason was fooling around with the settings and enabled the wireless authentication, then called in when they couldn't print but could scan. Enabling authentication doesn't disable the entire jack, I guess more likely it disables the IP transmission (maybe scanning is setup with hostnames and not IP?). I'm not really clear on that part.

You mentioned this was a used machine you installed at the client site? Few questions on that, if you're still having issues? Are the computers the same, or is any of them new? And what of the address book? I know it sounds silly, but being that you have had no luck that I can tell from any other solutions maybe try formatting the address book or at least resetting it? That may help clear up any issues.

I had a similar issue where I was installing a unit, halfway through I got locked out of the web image monitoring, couldn't log in, all passwords and users had been rejected, kept coming up with a "Try again later" message. We ended up resetting the address book on the machine, once that was done we were able to complete the call.

Oh, the reason I asked about the new computers or not is that on that same call we had issues with here, both PC's shared the same PC name, scan folder and the like. So there was a conflict there, easy enough fix by renaming the PC and folders.

                            Worth a shot?

the problem unit already back to office, the client no problem on printing & scanning.

the problem unit tested at office with same result, WEB monitor can't log in with "403" &
Printing from network no reaction on the MPC 4000. But printing using USB connection can print out.

Exchange Main Controller unit with another MPC 4000. still the same (The other unit with the problem unit's main controller unit can print)

can we try change other broads to solve the problem. Thank
