A faulty driver IC on the polygon motor PCB can either blow a fuse-resistor on the BICU pcb or just somewhat messing with the BICU power circuit - in both cases - as a side effect - the panel remains dark. From my experience in 4 of 5 cases that little fuse on the BICU is defective.

i culd not read dead display wth flashlite and IT guy gave me the wrong ip address
but after messing around on customer laptop i found it and got the sc202 code in WIM.
    THNS TO ALL.
does the new polymotor have a different part number?
    thnx

I fix BICU board in same way.
I made a schematic diagram of BICU. This helps to understand how +24V redistribute through BICU board and what will happen if it short to ground (SC202).

didnt see reference for fix the brd?
was this for repairing bicu or plygon motor brd?
does anyone know what goes on polgon motor?

im familiar wth what using the flashlite from fixing laptops wth bad backlight inverters or invert brds..
i have a call in to IT guy who should get back to me b4 i arrive on site.
my guess is the polymotor and or BICU brd.
i dont have more than 10 of these out there so this is my 1st time seeing this issue.
kinda wish i had researched this b4 taking the look yesterday.
i knew the lcd displays had issues and just figured it wld be a quick swap and fix..

honestly i never logged on a copier in WIM wth a sc code.till now wth a mpc2050 i have blowing random sc565 code.
now i see it Call Service Center:SC565..

with regards to bicu brd and poly motor,,
    can i swap the mpc3300 parts into a mpc2800?
    thnx

Unplug the polygon motor, trurn off the machine - if the panel comes back the BICU isn't fried -> just replace the polygon motor and you're good to go.

If the panel doesn't comeback -> the BICU is probably fried as well (happens in most cases) - you can either try and fix the PCB (search forum) or swap the BICU and polygon motor. As statet before: Never use a healthy BICU with a faulty polygon motor.

Luckily I've never actually run across it.
What, never???? I have had this fault so many times.
As Sandmanmac says, if this is SC202 (if you can access the WIM you'll be able to confirm this) then you must replace the polygon mirror motor and BICU as a set, if you just replace the BICU then you'll fry a second one if the faulty motor is still there
