MP C3003 - Color Issues only on Internal Prints/Prints

    Hello everyone!

Having a color "gradation" issue only on internal prints/prints. Copy ACC and any color copies come out great. I have updated all firmware and have already replaced the IPU. Any ideas out there? I'm stumped. Please see attachment.

    Thanks!

Do a memory clear on Printer Application, then print the colour test pattern from Printer SP and make sure everything looks ok.

I've seen a lot of techs forget about the image transfer lever on the ITB when setting up the machine. Maybe double check?

If you are referring to the lever that engages the black transfer roller in the ITB, if it is not in the correct position, the right end of the ITB is not locked in position. This can allow the ITB to move forward slightly when the cam on the ITB for opening the shutter on the ID sensor assembly. This can result in error code SC 370-02. I had this on an MP C6003 today. The lever was in the correct position but the latch at the back of the ITB that the lever turns was broken. Work around is to remove the shutter plate.

Would this not also effect image quality when copying or on copier ACC? Copying is perfect, only issues with printing, internal or not. I would assume print/copy would have same results if that was the case? I will double check.

Quick question. Did you clean all the mirrors before running ACC? If the mirrors are not clean when the white reference is read, light gray will be considered white and the entire gray scale shifted accordingly. Will only affect copying.

I did not think to clean them as the copy process is fine with no color issues. In the scanned attachment the ACC pages look exactly how they were printed. I believe there is a logic/board issue in play that is only affecting prints? Is there anything else that could only affect image quality on prints/internal prints?

              Thanks!

Have you performed a memory clear on the Printer Application? I have seen this many times, and that has always cleared it for me. Also, make sure all optics are cleaned, laser, ID sensors, scanner optics, and white reference plate.

Clean your optics, make sure your dev, tranfer and drum units are good, recall Factory ACC setting (sp5610 I think) and then run ACC
