Hi Y'all from the GREAT state of Texas. I have a Ricoh PRO 906EX that keeps jamming and registers Jam21-Heatpipe Exit Sensor. Have cleaned rollers, sensors, bearings and checked the belts ets. Just took over the account and haven't worked on this segment in over 7 years. Any ideas are appreciated. The SM isn't very helpful as I couldn't find a Disassembly for this section. Just found the fuser then jumps to duplex in the Replacement and Adjustment section. and in Detailed descriptions found the Paper exit/duplex.

Re: PRO 906EX
The problem was the joint on the motor that drives the exit section is not popping out and engaging the pin on the exit section. I pulled the motor out and cleaned / oiled the shaft and that was it probably could have done it without taking it out.
Another fix for the jam code 21 is cleaning the one way bearings on the exit/heat pipe assy. Looking at the rear of the assembly they are on the top left, the belt drives them, you have to take the large metal gear that drives the fuser to get to them, and also clean and buff up the shafts while you have the gears out. This has fixed my problems both times the last couple of times I have had the jam code 21.One more thought, If the coupling is not your problem look at the magnets that hold down the guide assy.Another thing that got this code for me was a small toner stalactite sticking on the fuser exit guide. Black on black, plus non-youthful eyeballs kept me from seeing it for a while. It also flips over a few edges, and the toner buggers come back in the same place.
