Re: Twain Driver for Aficio 551
What operating system are you looking for? I haven't seen one of those in a very long time, but you likely won't find a 64-bit driver if that's what you need. If it's on the network though Windows may be able to just use its own built in scan utility to work with it. That said that model is pretty much a throwback to the Windows NT era at this point so your options are going to be very limited. -

Re: Twain Driver for Aficio 551
551 is not verry supported anymore.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Driver and Utility Support for Windows XP discontinued
We have discontinued the support for Windows XP since 9th April, 2015.
As a result, all Windows XP drivers have been removed from our download page.
Background: Microsoft has discontinued its support of Windows XP.
The other OS'es only have mini drivers for this model, no twain.
Why not use scan to email?

Re: Twain Driver for Aficio 551
You can scan to any email address you want in the whole world.
To get scan to email to work, make sure the firmware is the latest, then you need the following info:
Customers SMTP server, (Usually the mailserver of the Internet Service Provider)
You need to make sure the IP address is valid, and the subnetmask and gateway, and also the DNS server. (You can use Google's DNS servers: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4)
You also need a valid administrators email address (Senders email), set up at the machine, for example: scanner@customersISP.com
if all this is ok, then you should be able to scan to email, unless something is blocked, or they use other ports for SMTP.
You can not assume that the settings that work with one customer, works with another, you have to make sure all the info above is right for THAT customer.Comment
