SC 236 on 425C

Hello all, I could use a little help here. I've just picked up a service call on a 425c, it's throwing a sc236. I'm curious to know if anyone has any helpful trouble shooting tips for this code? My employer had asked me to do some extensive research to be "super prepared" for it. I've checked the Goose Guide and it seems to be in reference to the Cyan Fgate Error? (not sure what a fgate error is?)

Seems to me GG suggest replace either the Controller or BICU? Any thoughts?

Just an update for anyone curious about the case above.

Went out and took a look at the machine, first think I checked was the BICU and Controller, to all effects both seemed to be working as intended, replacing these would have been my last suggestion if all else failed.

While testing the machine, I could not get the SC code to trigger as it had for the customer, so I asked them to duplicate the job they had last ran when it happened. It was a file on their Doc server that they just sent over, when they ran a job off this document with anymore than a single page it would stop operation and throw either a SC 236 or a 991.

At this point, I thought it might be a HDD issue, but on further testing of other documents on the doc server, none other seemed to duplicate the same issue. This leads me to believe that the original file stored on the Doc server had somehow became corrupted. It would print single copy jobs fine, yet every time I tried to do any job over 5 pages it would toss the code.

So finally I decided to just print one copy of this document, then re-scan said document into the doc server and see how that handled the issue. Well, apparently that was the trick. I ran well over 150 copies and spent a fair amount of time "baby sitting" the unit just to be safe.

So it seems that somehow the original file being stored on the doc server had become corrupted, deleting this file and replacing the file on the doc server with a new copy seems to have corrected the issues. And just for those wondering, it would seem to rotate between throwing out the SC 236 and SC 991 when checking the SMC reports.
