Re: Intermittent PDF problem
Had a customer with the same thing on an Oki C9600. The PC that it was printing from had the latest version of Adobe reader on it while other people in the office who had an older version had no issues while sending the same file. Try an earlier version of Adobe and see what happens.

Re: Intermittent PDF problem
I checked in with my customer and we are not able to manipulate the fonts. I did get some info from a fellow analyst that it could be a browser based issue. Apparently, IE and Chrome both have different modes of presenting PDF files and depending on how they render PDF's could be a cause of the problem. Any thoughts floating around that idea?Leave a comment:

Re: Intermittent PDF problem
Thanks. I will be talking to the customer today on a follow up call. I will bring that up. I don't know if the app they are using allows for a font change but it might work in another mode.

Re: Intermittent PDF problem
I believe that it's a font issue. It was on a Sharp that I saw the exact same issue. If you changed the font to a font that was printing properly, the streaks were gone. =^..^=Leave a comment:

Re: Intermittent PDF problem
qbert69,
Thanks for the prompt reply!
I just got off the phone with the customer. In most cases, this is print job that originates from a web-based system. The customer "submits" the form and the system creates the print stream, prints it and then the form is sent upstream further into the system they use. However, they say it does happen randomly with other PDF documents. They also said that when they save the documents to the local PC and open them, the streaks are not present.
It's a very curious.I did just try to use a driver I pulled off Samsung's site:K4350_Series_WIN_PCL_V3.13.14.06.32_CDV1.32. They were using the Universal driver version 3. The customer is going to test it out and see if it's a driver issue.

Re: Intermittent PDF problem
Good Morning!
My first ticket for the day was for a customer with a SL-K4300LX device. The customer complains about random streaks of black lines appearing on PDF files they receive from various outside agencies. It seems that all other functions print ok without the marks showing up. I think that kind of exonerates the drum/fuser etc. I have attached a sample of the page.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Cheers
Karl
