Apologies if this ends us being a repeat post, my original post seems not to have shown up.
I am currently trying to diagnose an odd problem with a Sharp MX-5001N. Every few pages (5-7) or so, a line vertical of text (graphics, images, or whatever) will "squish". This occurs when printing Black and White. This occurs randomly on the page, but always for the entire vertical portion (the squishing becomes horizontal if paper is fed in lengthwise eg. 8.5 x 11 L.)
I do not think it is the drum. I have a hunch, however, that is is either the Primary or Secondary Transfer Unit or belt. It's almost as if the drum is properly applying the image to the belt, but is getting smeared when put on the belt or paper. Additionally, there is a slight odd noise from that portion of the unit, near the Secondary unit, but I am not able to pinpoint it well.
The issue definitely occurs before fusing.
If anyone could take a look at the attached samples and confirm/deny my suspicions, that would be much appreciated.
Thank you
