Bought a Sharp MX-503N with very light banded copies. The copier had a very early version of firmware on it. After an update test prints appeared to look fine except when duplexing from doc feeder. I tore copier down and cleaned and did full pm. At first copies looked pretty good, but today I ran machine and copies were washed out again. I ran a sky shot and had lots of vertical bands. I did what any good tech would do and guessed either laser or image control board. We tried laser first and banding was gone but copies were very dark. After checking exposure and voltages 1 X 1 plus 1 segment of its always sunny in Philadelphia a vision of user settings came to mind. They both:glass and SPF were set to very dark (probably to compensate for bad laser). Copies look good and I managed to look busy for most of the day.
