[Misc] MX2640 web sticking

Hi i have a MX2640 that keeps getting the web jammed. (Estate agent)
The first we know is when the machine makes a noise as the webs stuck.

The web gets moved by a solenoid and we have checked and replaced the unit but still does it.


Has anyone had this?

Does anyone know if there is a soft switch to get the web to double click.

Enter system settings and login as an administrator. In Device control there is a spot to select 24-28 pound paper vs 18-24 or what ever it says. It bumps your fuser temp up a bit for plain paper. We do this on all Sharp color. It helps when the customer uses a slightly heavier stock or does long high coverage runs.

Also ask if they are running any thick paper or labels. If so ask what tray they put them in. These machines will not run any thick paper with out being told heavy paper 1 or labels. They do not have enough heat to fuse properly and the web gets contaminated quickly and then sticks to the lower roller causing a high pitch squeal, double imaging and globs/streaks of toner down the page.

There is also a TB that will change how much and how often the web advances. Good luck

SIM 43-32 to adjust the frequency of the web cleaning.
