    sharp mx 5070n keeps rebooting...

    ok...

I arrived at the site... plugged in the copier... and it gets to the sharp screen... then it reboots...

unable to install firmware... it keeps rebooting...
    disconnected fax and network cables...
I disconnected the fax board and the adf...
    it made no difference...
I changed the ac pwb... no difference...
    I disconnected the hard drive...
    no difference...

I am looking into replacing the dc power supply, then the ac monitor pwb, then the hv pwb...

I am checking if this is the right order or if there is a better way...

    the service manual confuses me...

any guidance to this knuckle dragger screw turner would be helpful...

Replace the SATA card, or if you have the ability simply reimage the SATA card

I'd replace the SATA Card with a new one and re-image it. The ones used by sharp fail all the time.

      Good Luck

        parts manual

are you talking about the part number 26 in the image on page 169 of parts manual
and the part number is listed in the msata matrix on page 167 of parts manual

        handy guide

I was looking at the handy guide... are you referring to whats on the troubleshooting procedures on page 68...

        and concerning replacing the msata...

in the handy guide on page 50 should I just skip down to step 2 and install the new msata...

meaning does it come with a minimum level firmware installed...

and then once I am done use the firmware setup procedure on page 35

        am I on target???

        one more question...

what do I need to do to reimage msata outside of the copier...??? what do I need...???
