    [Misc] MX-C301w Noisy Fuser drive

    MX-301w noisy fuser drive
I was curious if anyone has pin pointed the cause of the rattling noise from the fuser drive cluster. Before I go ordering all kinds of clutches and gears, i was hoping someone already pin pointed the cause. It sounds like a pack of tic tacks being shacked. lol. I've lubed all gears and bushings and rollers. Run the test for FUM, sounds horrible. We are reconditioning 6 of these boxes, some only have 50k on them. 3 out of 6 have this rattle noise from fuser drive. WTH?
Has anyone been there done that?
    TIA
    -Steve

Pretty common issue, not sure of all the models, but you may wanna search this site for all the threads on this type of fuser/similiar and all the bulletins over the years.

I haven't had many on newer units, but I remember 311's and some others being a pain with all the bulletins, codes, and fractured parts.

Most of our noise issues are caused by the upper heat roller bearings. May want to try swapping some fusers around.

I have had 2 of these recently. Delivery drive unit which also drives fuser. Not fun. About 2 2 1/2 hour job and I recommend you bring
to your office since a pain and try to stay organized. Here is your part # dunt-8748uszz.
You can take fuser out and hold onto it in Sim 6 fuser load test and still hear noise to elimanate fuser assy. Good luck and take your time.
