Hi guys
Has anyone seen this: MX4070 scan quality has gone bad in the last 6 weeks, but copies are totally fine??
A 64-5 printout scanned in shows the horizontal lines fading in and out with a pitch of about 15mm and the lines above & below it the fading is offset slightly so it seems like a screening issue.
It had a similar (but not same) issue 6 weeks ago where light originals scanned really patchy and the fix was to do the factory reset and Viola!! It came good instantly.
A factory reset hasn't made a difference this time and every scan setting has been tried to see if anything made a difference.
The only settings that almost make an acceptable difference are 600dpi Tiff & 600dpi JPEG (but you can still tell it is there) - 600dpi pdf and almost all other settings make no difference. 600dpi PDF A /1b (Compact Ultra Fine w/ no OCR) is half ok ish.
I am trawling through the manuals looking for block diags to show why copy & scan would be different but in the meantime thought i would throw this out to you guys to see if anyone has experienced this before.sample.pdf
Cheers
