MX-4071 Squeaky Noise (Video Included)

We are having an issue from a MX-4071 with internal finisher. 3 different technicians have gone but we are unable to replicate the noise on site. Customer says noise comes and goes and it might even go a week without making it.
I used simulations to test the finisher and machine motors but no luck. We are thinking of replacing the whole finisher, if that does not fix it just replace the machine.
Anyone have any insight?

It's the bearing in the fusing unit of the fusing rear upper transport. I only have the documents for europe ( germany ) DEU-5856_CCE2888.pdf
The bearings are worn out. When you disassemble it, you will see a lot of plastic powder from the bearing.

It's the cooling roller which is the silver shaft on the exit of the fuser. The cooling roller is held in by 2 bushings which are full of debris. Clean all the debris out of the bushings and add a very small amount of high temp grease and it will resolve your issue. Had this many times

Another place to look is on the exit assembly just before the punch/dummy punch unit. If you take the cover off just below the display panel you will see a metal bracket that acts as a ground on the exit shaft. This will cause noise also. Mine wouldn't happen until they did large jobs (700+) then when they let it rest the noise would go away until the next large job.

If oiling the fuser and the exit units doesn't work, take the finisher out and remove the front and rear covers then remove the top transport section 2 and oil the bushings on the shafts inside the finisher transport section 3. Check page 20 of the parts guide for the MXFN27N you'll see which bushings to oil.

I think the plastic guide behind that metal roller is the problem. The guide warps and when the metal roller is pushed in when the side door is closed, the roller rubs on the guide.

The fuser exit roller bushings are identical to the ones provided by the fusing webs (MX-360WB, MX-510WB, & MX-620WB etc) we usually rob these, as they rarely wear down when used for webs.

disconnect the finisher, run exit motors, and fuser motors in simms. if its in the finisher its the teflon rollers along the top of the finisher. take off top cover and grease all the ends of the white teflon rollers. its usually in the exit behind the punch or dummy punch, remove the exit assembly and remove teflon rollers and grease them, also you can cheat the right side door by removing the actuator . then turn on fuser motor in simms with the door open you can cheat the door close senser with the actuator you removed from the door. you will see the fuser turning and exit and inverter area as well. touch all teflon rollers to see what stops the noise. good luck

Have seen this a few times, some were the plastic bearings others mentioned, the rest were a brass bushing on the last metal shaft in exit unit. Run paper output motor (POM) in sim 6-1 to verify. Lubricant from the side once unit removed will shut it up

Hi Danny464,

I suppose you have a old fusing unit on this mfp because there were made some upgrades in order to remove that awful noise. Sven94 allready give you right the solution for this problem.
This is what you need to replace in you colour copier:
