    U2-74

    Hello,

We have 2 printers now with an U2-74 error code. One MX-2651 and one MX-3071. The manual states to install the latest FW.

A couple of weeks ago on the MX-2651 we installed the latest FW and since this morning the error code returned.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Regards,

    Ramon

    Re: U2-74

We had a MX-2651 that went into U2-74 three times in three weeks. The first call we upated the firmware. We ended up replacing the MFPC-SCAN pwb on 11/8/2021 and it hasn't came back.

Sharp really does not go into to much detail on this error (Data corruption due to storage error, data abnormality) just says to use 49-1 (Firmware) to resolve the issue. When does this happen, copies/scans or prints? Keep us posted on your results.

In our case it was when faxing. There were several receiving issues leading up to the U2-74. Five in three months prior to replacing the pwb.

@copiertec the strange thing is that the U2-74 came in the middle of the night. I don't believe that someone is working there around that time.

I am working up a timeline using MICAS and email alerts for our U2-74. Many of them occured at 3AM or at least that is when MICAS logged them. I am certain the machine kept working with the U2-74 for days based on when the customer called in for service. This is a public library and had no use in the middle of the night except maybe a fax coming in. I could get a recent transmission log and see of they really do get an incoming fax at 3AM every day.

The machine must have ran with the U2-74 in the background as the customer only placed 3 service calls for this error.

I'm curious, what firmware version did it have before the update?

                      Hi

Error U2-74 indicates a problem with firmware recovery and can be reset by the operator by acknowledging (OK) the error display.

On devices that are not switched off overnight, the device firmware is checked at 3:00 a.m. If a change in the firmware is detected during this check, the original firmware is restored. This is a security function that prevents manipulation of the device firmware. This function can be activated/deactivated in the security settings of the device.

                            Hi,

I have also experience this issue. I tried a firmware update and then tried the CN Update. Sharp recommended the eMMC/mSATA card, which I replaced, but the problem wasn't resolved until I replaced the MFPC unit.

Any idea where you can deactivate this setting?

Or do you have that Technical Report? Because there is no such report in BeNeLux

Because changing the motherboard on a crapload of machines that are throwing this error doesnt seem like an option.
