MX-3100n - Printing faint black lines side to side & help provide latest Firmware?

Ok guys first post.. so apologize if I get this incorrect. I am not a tech or anything.. but I did stay at a holiday inn express once 😁😂

I got a MX-3100n from a friend who was getting ride of it. He said it was working fine except that it has some faint black lines that print on the bottom of the page side to side.. NOT top to bottom. They kinda go in and out.. sometimes they fade away and are barely noticeable, but then they come back.

Now I did do some Google searching and did the manual cleaning thing with the 2 wand.. both the "green" and "gray" wands..

I have a sample of what I am looking at attached. Sorry for the big pic.. but hopefully you see the lines on the bottom of the page..

Lastly, can anyone else help me get the latest firmware for this printer? Its kinda idiotic that the firmware isnt distributed for free. I guess thats how they make their money.

Holiday Inn... funny

Open right side door, look inside above registration unit. Any lines on the front side of that shiny thing? (Primary transfer belt)
If not, it's probably a failed cleaning blade in the black process unit.
Either way, its a cleaning blade.
No need for you to "clean it". It's toast.
If you can find a cleaning blade for models up to a MX5141, the cleaning blade (and main charge) will fit your 3100.
If it is the PTB, same cleaning blade 510mk.

Looks like it needs the black drum cleaning blade at the very least. Could also be Primary Transfer Cleaning blade.

Thanks for the response EasyRider and Doug.P Really appreciate the info.

Being that I am a knob in the copier stuff. Few questions..

1. What is the Registration unit? 🙄
2. The Mx5141 and the Mx3100 are compatible? So If I get the kit 510mk kit that should work. Cause I think for the 3100 its the 310mk kit but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. At least anywhere cheap or reasonable.

Also is there any places it shows how to change the kit out? I'll check youtube but just asking to make sure.
