    Sharp MXC300W

    Hi guys,

we are going to be setting up a sharp MXC300W into a customers that prints from MAC's Big Surr 11.0

now would i need to have a post script option installed on the machine for them to print?

also one user requires scan to folder directly to his machine (SMB) to be set up, is there any specific requirements for the machine to be able to do this and is it compatible with the OS version they are running?

This model came with PS stantard in the US. I would assume the same is true for the UK.

I have never done scan to folder on this model to a MAC so I am of no help there.

Here is a decent walk through on set up of SMB to a MAC.

Setup SMB Scanning Using Mac OS X (10.11.x, 10.12.X) (xerox.com)

Your problem is going to be Big Sur 11.0 uses SMB ver 3.0, the MXC300W only supports SMB ver 1.0

Quick Google search will show you how to enable SMBv1 on MAC, however is a security risk you should make customer aware of.

In the US there is a firmware update for SMB2 if that helps.

PostScript is standard on the UK model.

This model still uses SMB v1 when closing the connection (SMB 2/3 when transmitting).
Keep in mind that some PCs/servers do not like this and can block the copier from re-connecting; you may see a successful first scan, but then get CE-00 afterwards.

You can scan to email with an open relay, FTP, TWAIN; or, better to upgrade to a MX-C303.

never actually used TWAIN OR FTP (not successfully anyway)

i don't suppose you have guides on how to set this up?

i have downloaded the TWAIN driver, i have in put the device information, select 'ok' then the machine doesn't do anything? (trying to test on our windows pc in the office before taking to customer)

Try using IP address of MAC instead of host name to rule out DNS issue

What are you getting for am error?
