    MX-2651 messed up colors/black

I have a MX-2651 with messed up and missing colors/parts of an image.
We already swapped all 4 developer units + drum units, Fuser, TC1, TC2, MC PWB, TC PWB, PCU PWB. Still the same problem.

Did anyone ever see something like this?

Is there a whole width image on the transfer belt? It looks either 2nd transfer not pulling the image or laser shutter partially blocking laser.
This needs proper diagnosing before throwing loads of parts at it, it should be a simple thing to diagnose

What happens when you run 64-5 #2 instead of 3? Or print just a black sky shot out of 64-1. Trying to see if it's color, BW, or both. Normal 64-1 is processed black, while 64-5 #3 is processed black, but is only black when running #2.

We had a very similar issue recently with a 3071 that was slightly used that we purchased from a wholesaler. We ended up scrapping the machine because we weren't able to resolve it without a bunch of possible parts. Didn't happen every time, but happened very frequently.

Stopping the print while it's on the transfer belt would help to know if the image is being produced that way, or if it looks good, that means it's not being transferred to the paper.

It looks like a grounding issue at first glance, but those are very hard to track down.

whole width image is on the transfer belt, but kinda dotted and unclear.

print from 64-5 #2 or black sky shot, problem remains

i hope its not a grounding issue, or we gonna scrapping too

Do you have another laser you could swap it with? Weird, but it's possible.

The weirdest one I've seen similar, was a 5071, about 3 weeks after install decided that the MFP/SCN PWB didn't want to tell the machine to write the black image on the laser. John Potts from Sharp had me put a piece of ELECTRICAL tape around the charge grid on the black and it finally produced a black band, which means it wasn't high voltage as it was getting a charge. I even replaced the LSU and it didn't make a difference. It was WEIRD - I hope it's not the laser, but it's cheaper than the MFP/SCN PWB, that's for sure.

What about on the drums? Are the transfer belt positions correct when it switches the cams down?

I would start by troubleshooting before throwing parts at it!

Have you done an emergency stop? (stopping machine in the middle of a run) Is the image messed up on the drums? Is the image messed up on the transfer belt? Doing this you will pinpoint where the problem is. I would suspect since you have pretty much replaced everything internally in the machine, it could possibly be the LSU? Once you do a little troubleshooting you will find where the issue lies.

We started from the beginning and did some troubleshooting.

Machine prints fine again, first thing to ckeck: the 3 spring contacts sitting in the toner enclosure should be all the same length and make sure none of them is bent. Especially the right one.
Second part was replacing PTC + cleaning the PTC holder with antistatic cloth, there should be no dust, toner etc left on it. Also clean the PTC area in the machine as good as possible.

                  Hi

                  New TI from Sharp Germany

                  KMM appendix
                  Number: 6215 Date: 22-1-2024
                  Model: MX-2651 - MX-6071S
The colors are z. T. not printed flat.
The cause was a defective PTC Corona holder.
This resulted in a release of tension.
In this case an MX-2651 was affected.
