Little mechanic light on Sharp SF-2040

Hi, i was using my copier Sharp SF-2040, when appear a little mechanic on the panel and said call the technitian and copier don't run. I try to erase with sim 14, but still there what can i do?

on most of the sharps i can remember, that light is a maintenance light..i believe it's sim #20 sub-code #1 to reset maint. count.. good luck

Little Mechanic Man

The Mechanic Man comes up as a reminder that it is time to have a preventative service. i.e. replace developer, drum blades, and on the 2040 it is time to replace the cleaning rollers on the fusing unit.

If you just "clear" the counter you will eventually start to have copy quality issues quickly thereafter.

The 2040 gets about 160K on a drum but only 80K on the drum blades. By not replacing the blades, the drum will last less than the 160K that it advertises and copy quality will fail.
