    MX 450N Document Feeder problem

    Document Feeder MX-EFX1 on a Sharp MX-M450N

In the simulation every sensor, clutch and solenoid are working.
In the sim the ADF main motor is not working. And after testing the motor with the sim it does not turn no noise nothing, and when I get out of the sim it show a jam and I have to reboot the copier to clear the jam.
I have the 24V going to the motor.

Before replacing the motor I would like a second opinion, because I have been told that this motor never go bad.

Check the SPF exit sensor (SPOD). It can come unsnapped from the frame. To access this sensor, power off the machine, and remove the CIS to see SPOD. The AR-EF3 style exit sensor has a J-shaped flag that is less likely to get snagged.

My theory is that excessively rough jam removal causes the photointerrupter to come unsnapped. It's always the same users that have this problem. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
