    ARM450 STAPLER

    Hello all
i have an on going problem with an ar-m450n copier with the saddle stitch finisher. The problem is about every 3 weeks the stapler does not show as an option. Can't staple or sort from the machine. Has anyone else seen this?? What could be the problem?? Thanks in advance!!

What have you done in the past to get it going? It sounds like an interface problem either with the finisher's connector or the connector on the copier. Sometimes the molex pins don't lock in and loose contact.

I have swapped the entire finisher unit and the problem still came back. I am thinking about replacing the main board but not real sure if that will solve the problem or not??

If you have an ARDC1 power supply, you might try that first; if that doesn't help, try the PCU pwb next.

from experiene with this i have found that when this happens the connection is loose. take the lower cover off the copier where the finisher plugs in. remove the metal block/bracket that the finisher plug is on flip it around and make sure the conections are good on the back of it. i have seen several where the plugs on the back of this where not plugged in all the way from the factory.
