    ARM 455n Scan to E-mail

Strange problem. I can communicate to smtp server through web interface.
When I try to scan I get CE-07. I assume that it is telling me it can't authenticate.
On one customer location I can ping the qwest smtp server but not the comcast smtp server.
DNS is set at both locations and smtp address and pop3 address are correct because I can ping them from a workstation.
    What am I missing.
I know it is a simple answer, I just can't find it.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

    Hello Steph from Qwest here,

I am not sure if you are a Qwest customer, however, if you are I would be happy to have a technical support specialist call you to help. Please email talktous@qwest.com with your bill phone number, bill address and best contact number and we will have a technician call you back.

    thank you

Error Code Description of the Error
CE-01 The network interface card is out of order.
CE-02 Cannot find the specified mail server or FTP server.
CE-03 The server was down during the scanning of the original.
CE-04 An invalid account name or password for the FTP server has been entered.
CE-05 An invalid directory of the FTP server has been entered.
CE-06 Cannot find the specified mail server (POP3 server).
CE-07 The account name or password for the POP3 server is invalid.
CE-08 The POP3 server was down during communication.
CE-00 An error other than the above has occurred.

This should only affect you if you have to POP before SMTP, otherwise you wouldn't need the POP account.
Some ISP's have it set so you can't PING their server. Check the settings in the email client that the customer is using.
Remember, the M355/445 series doesn't support SSL if it is required.
      Hope that helps !

This worked in the shop on identical machine and used gawab.com for non ssl.
At cust. site I still get connection fail.
I noticed the nic is set to 10t with half duplex, but I can't find where to change it.
I checked sevice manual in sims and op manual in key op settings.
I even logged in through telnet but no speedsettings.
I did reset the nic to factory defaults but still says 10t.
        Know where toset this?
