Are you saying the whole machine shuts down (no power, op panel dead, no fans) or op panel is on, but locked up? There are fixes/issues for the latter one, but if its the first one, I'd be more thinking power supply boards or power source to the machine. Let me know.

Not exactly related to the problem at hand but i had a MX2600 yesterday locking up at the panel intermitantly and not being able to print some times. After showing up on site the NIC lights were out, i power cycled the copier and it booted up, it did the auto login to the black account and locked up at the # of copies used window. The NIC light was blinking. After some screwing around and 2 more reboots the copier kept locking up. I pulled the cable and it fired up fine. After a laptop could not get a good connection to the network jack i pulled out the jack. The wire that is supposed to bend up and down that touchs pin 1 of a RJ45 connector was bent and the rest of the connections were all corroded and very dirty. After blowing out the jack and inserting the cable about 10 times i got a "good" connection and the copier fired up fine and started to print.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I know it sounds odd but check your paper feed clutches, there's a tect tip and bulliten on this issue.A former co-worker had a machine not power up,no display,no fans,he unplugged the tray 1cpf clutch and immediately worked properly. The bulliten will give you the new part number for the paper feed clutch.

Thanks for your help guys, turned out what they meant was "locking up" as in couldn't print (they are russian so i guess somethings are a little unclear in translation) turned out to be an ip conflict (two devices on the same ip) thanks anyway!
