    MXM550 F2-31

I have a MX-M550n that gives a F2-31 code. I have replaced the charge corona, swapped the PCU, HVPS, LVPS, the wiring harness to the corona connectors, left door unit and process unit with a working machine and still get a drum coated with toner. I do not see anything else in the wiring diagram that would effect this.

Clean off/replace your image density sensor and run sim 44-02.

The procon adjustment just comes up with the same trouble code. In SIM8-2 with the door cheated I usually can hear the corona and see the glow, but I am getting no output to the corona.

Are the drum mark and toner density sensors plugged in and clean? How many copies on the drum? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I am with BlackCat, I have seen this and it was a loose connector in my case.

That is a drum sensor error. if you replaced the drum unit you should do a 44-2. Also if you had the drum unit apart then there is a connector on the rear frame side that has to be unplugged to open the unit maybe it didn't get plugged back in. hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for the input. The drum had only about 45K on it and the problem was a coated drum on power up. It wound up being the drum - not taking a charge after a power outage???? It makes no sense to me but that fixed it!

Congratulations! The drums that I've seen code out were scratched through the drum mark so that it didn't read properly, usually with very high count (400k+, well beyond what you'd consider a useful life).
