    MXM623N - Printing issue

Send a print job and I see the print job enter and leave the print queue. The copier will have its fans rev up, but no print job.

Same issue on Windows 7 and XP.

Network involves Linux server, Class B subnet and Windows PCs. The computers print directly to the copier and not through the server. The computer I tested with was 10.2.100.X and copier was 10.2.0.55. I can ping the copier, the job leaves the print queue and the fans rev up, but nothing happens.

I have connected directly to my laptop. Able to ping and I got the same results for printing several times and then I was able to print a test page. I did not try a second test page.

The firmware is the latest revision.

Any ideas before I try a new print board.

    Thanks for any help.

The LSU and fan starting would indicate some type of code or authentication is enabled on the machine. The job simply disappears into the ether.
Could also try SIM 67-17 to dump printer memory.

Are you sending a PostScript print job to machine without the PostScript option installed? A duplicate IP address can produce this exact symptom also. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I simply tested with print test page and there Is no authentication setup. I pulled network cable out and pinged with request timed out result.

I had this issue. Checked fuser cleaned thermistors. Cleaned the drum position sensor and ran 44-6... I think

I tried 67-17 first and was able to print a couple of pages before having the same issue. Cleaned thermosters and drum sensors with the same results, a couple of prints and then acts as it will print and then does not.

I am flashing firmware the firmware now. Found one slightly newer.

It sounds like you could potentially have faulty print memory. Not very common but does happen. Assuming the board is utilized the same way as past models, DIMMs 3 and 4 are used by the print engine, and 1/2 by the copy/scans. I would sooner replace memory chips than a whole board, personally.

You can use SIM 60-1 to test the memory chips in slots 1 - 4.

The maintenance counters are all within check.

The firmware gave me the same result.

Shutting off the different protocals such as Netware, Netbeui and Ethertalk and keeping TCP/IP enabled gave a different problem of printing hex decimal junk.

I went into the web page and enabled the LPD setting and set the timeout for 30 sec. I have printed over 10 documents from different programs and still working. I will check on the copier on Friday and update accordingly.

Another option is to use the webpage based job log. You may want to selectively choose options when viewing it, cause a full log is a nasty spread sheet. Check the error cause and results for sure. There is a bulletin for the error codes, MFP-SB-342, its a must have for the clipboard.

Also, TT-20387, might help too, clear the job log if its a heavy use machine, a full log can throw out print jobs.

I have called the client and they have not returned my call, so for now, I will say it is still working.
