A non-profit has just been given this AR-C270 and it wrinkles through the fuser when it dosn't jam there. We mostly do Mita's, so I was wanting to know if this is worth fixing or did they get a Money-pit? Black prints Ok and color looks like, if it could run some with-out jamming at the fuser, it may clean up Okay. Also need fuser unit/PM kit part #'s & aprox $ please. We are 10 min away and nearest sharp dealer is 1 1/2 hour away, so they would really like us to help.

The maint. kits for the fuser are
AR-C16UH upper heat roller
AR-C16LH lower heat roller
AR-C25KH oil applying kit
AR-C15LL fuser oil
It has been 7 or 8 years since I have worked on one of these. We only had a couple out and didn't have alot of problems with them. Just mainly drum, DV and fuser rebuilds. I don't remember having to do a lot with with the transfer belt. Hope this helps. -

I believe the fuser rollers get deformed on those. If you remove the fuser unit, you will probably see a gap in the center where the rollers meet. I don't get out much so I don't know if there are many other machines like the 270 that used a soft upper & lower roller with heater lamps in both but it seemed like using 2 soft rollers wasn't a great idea. I have one sitting in the warehouse that was retired because it was cheaper to buy a new machine (didn't need 11x17 capabilities) than it was to replace the rollers again. The upper roller CROLM1365FC53 is still available from Sharp and retails at $175.58. The lower roller also is still available CROLM1366FC31 and retails for $141.38. Are they using high quality paper? A ream of good paper would be worth trying as well.Comment
