If you are working on an AR-160, then the actuator for tray 1 is probably broken or out of place.(thanks to the operator!) The part number for the actuator is MLEVP0024QSZZ. The sensor it triggers is CPWBF1177FC65, but i've never seen the sensor go bad. to replace one or both, remove the toner cartridge, dv unit and drum(really easy, 1 blue screw). Then just remove the cassette and flip the whole machine up onto it's back and your there. If it has two cassettes then separate the lower cassette and do the same. Sharp also has a AR-M160 model. This is completely different, but can have a similar problem. If you have an M160, then you need QSW-B0017QSZZ, and this is located behind the rear cover below the main drive and is really easy to replace. The cassette hits this switch and it tells the tray to rise (these go bad all the time) If the M160 has more cassettes, order additional sensors for each cassette. -
mtech has covered it.
If it's an AR-160 the flag is probably just knocked off or broken.
If it's an AR-M160 the tray microswitches very commonly are a problem. They're made very cheaply (like lots of thinks-Sharp).
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
