    [Jamming] ARBC 260 jamming

Hi everyone, we had a call from a customer for an ARBC 260 jamming at the fuser.
The paper lead edge gets just past the fuser exit sensor so I think it is that sensor.
Would you agree? I tried cleaning it as best as possible but I think it is toast since it is in close to all the heat.
If you believe this is possible would someone be able to give me the part number for this. Precssion roller doesnt seem to list it.

    Thanks

That machine is... Something else... Best advise your client to upgrade. Sharp no longer supports the machine, meaning any parts you'll find online are likely going to be the last available. If Precision Roller isn't displaying, I would hazard a guess that they can't get them from their third party vendor now. Any parts you find will be somewhat of a miracle, and likely priced accordingly.

As techs, our job is to support the client in their needs until we very well can't anymore, and running out of parts on a large scale seems to apply to that idea. As I already said, advise client to upgrade to something that's supported.

We would love for them to upgrade it. But they wont. They dont even want me to fix the DF, it has a broken hinge.

Then it sounds like you've done all you can. If you can't obtain a sensor to fix their problem, they're going to be stuck with it as is - after all, it's not your fault the manufacturer stopped producing parts for that machine. I'm sure you're well aware of the AIO toner cartridges and their issues.

Sounds like a stubborn customer trying to be as cheap as possible. Wash your hands of them and be done now.

So to get that sensor I would need to get the whole fuser???

The part number I have is :VHPGP1A71L3-1
However sharp does not appear to have any. So I'd go with akitu on this one.

The only sensor I see in the parts guide in the fuser delivery is #VHPGP1A71L3-1. I don't work on this model thankfully.

Only having one ARBC320 in my service area, I didn't get to see it much before it was retired. I offered them a full maintenance with the last of the parts I had, it was too expensive for them. The parts have since been discarded as that was well over a year ago now. I don't think the sensor would have been included in a fuser rebuild kit, I was thinking of thermisters, my mistake.

That being said, if you can't find the sensor through a trusted third party vendor such as Precision Roller, I wouldn't put much more faith into a part you find on eBay.

Good luck, hopefully they upgrade to something you can actually service!

Take a close look at the actuator for the pod1 sensor they can warp. Check for build up on the diverter gate. A skipping transfer belt will squawk and can cause pod1n jams too, clean the belt drive roller well. I had several of these dogs, glad im down to one.

We still have 2 of these and I would like to have the jam code to reference as there are several issues with jamming coming out of the fuser. Most common though is the small white follower rollers on the exit of the fuser break apart causing problems.

                          Good luck.

Your problem can also be caused by a slipping/stalling transfer belt. Paper timing through this machine is very critical, as when it slips during transport into the fuser, the paper timing is off and the pod1 sensor expects the paper sooner, so the lead edge stops just past the sensor.

Not that this is necessarily better by any means in particular, because a new belt would probably be pretty costly at this point, but maybe more widely available than a specific sensor.

Take the fuser out. Clean the black plastic plate to the left of fuse r its on the door . toner builds up and hardens.
