MX-3100N pull out keyboard not responding.

MX-3100N pull out keyboard seems to be locked. All three lights are lit solid and no response from any key. Have replaced the entire keyboard and cant find anything in system setting or web interface to enable or disable the keyboard. The touch panel keyboard works fine. Any ideas????

There is a TB with a new p/n for the USB conversion pwb (I think that's the one), sorry, I don't have time at the moment to look it up, but I'm sure someone will soon enough.

"Replace USB CONV PWB, PN: CPWBN1833FCE1. The 3 LEDs on the keyboard will be ON
when the keyboard does not respond. During normal operation the 3 LEDs will be OFF
      when typing."
      From the TB.

I have replaced the entire keyboard unit with the conversion board in it. No change.

If that was a known good display/keyboard unit, than your looking at connections to the mother pwb, the mother pwb itself, or the MFP pwb.
After replacement of the keyboard, was a firmware update done?

Firmware update was done after keyboard replacement. I have another keyboard unit and a mother pwb that I will try next. Not 100 percent sure if the keyboard I replaced was good to begin with as another tech gave it to me and said it was good.

The only way you can be 100% sure it works is to see it working with your own eyes; if you have a chance, try it in a machine before heading back to the customer.
I can't count the number of times I've been told "it's a good part" and, of course, that was the last thing tried (again) that fixed the problem.

BOTH dip switches (this is the 2 small dip switches near the NIC on the outside of the MFP board) need to be OFF. This turns on the front & rear USB ports when you have the keyboard unit installed.
The front USB port needs to be on to activate the keyboard, otherwise the LED's will be on, but no communication

I replaced the keyboard again from a known working machine and it did begin to work until the machine was rebooted. I then replaced the mother pwb and all is well now. Thanks for all the input.
