Pull the back panel off the machine, and check the DC power supply for blown fuses, most likely it's F205.

Internal finisher? Yup. Check the COMM plug running from the finisher to the copier, you'll find it may not be properly connected. Reconnect, power cycle machine and problem solved.

Thank you for the replies. I will check tonight once I get home from work. The unit is at my house. The unit has an internal finisher no external finisher/sorter. The unit was working fine. The only thing that has changed was I bought the unit and it was transported to my house via truck. I'm not an experienced copy guy so, I don't know what could of possibly gone wrong just moving it across town.

    regards

First time I heard that sound I damn near shat myself - second week on the job, moving copier around; go to plug it in and it makes the noise. Turned out it had never had the finisher COMM plug actually screwed into place by the former two clowns technicians, and moving it caused it to come just loose enough to read as being unplugged.

Easiest way to find out if you have an inner finisher is to go into sim 22-10 and check the line beside Finisher: to see if it reads none or a model number of a finisher.

    Sharp Mx-3100 error L4-11

    Hello,

I just bought this machine and took it home to my house. Had to flash the firmware because the unit had no hard drive. Found a used hdd and put it in and flash the firmware. Unit boots up fine but, has an error code I'm not familiar with. I called a service company and they want money to fix it. I do know this unit did not have a sorter attached to it. I attached a short video on what it is doing. Any help on how to fix this problem myself would be appreciated.

    thanks
