I would suggest turning off most unused network protocols/services on the copier, especially mDNS. This has fixed a lot of non-responsive copier issues for us, especially with the newest ( I think we've had to do this with every MX-6240N that we've sold).
Via the webpage, I'd go to Network Settings->Services Settings and turn off mDNS. I'd also go to the Protocol Settings page and make sure that only TCP/IP is enabled, as you don't need Ethertalk, Netware, or NetBEUI. Also, go to Print Port Settings and disable WSD.
You can also go to Security Settings->Port Control and disable unused services there as well. Just make sure to test functionality (printing/scanning) after turning off any services/ports.

I have a Sharp MX 2600 that has to be rebooted to print out jobs after it goes to sleep. This is only on occasion.Most of the time ,it wakes up and prints as expected. It has the latest firmware installed.I also asked the user to check other functionality such as fax etc. I haven't heard the results of that yet.
Any one seen this?
If any main. messages are on, and depending on how sim settings are set, this will hold up print jobs. Either do the pm or reset the counters if this is the case. Good luck. Dan.Leave a comment:

Check IP address, you many have another device on the network that's nicking the IP every time the machine goes to sleep. had it the other day and where it was doing that. We moved the machine up the IP range and have not heard anything since.Leave a comment:
