mx-3501 E7-11 code

Hi I am new on this site but I am having a problem with a MX-3501 with code E7-11 and it locks machine up.

I have installed a scanner board from a working machine with no help. I cleaned the white pad under glass with alcohol.

I disconnected flat white cable that goes to scanner on both sides and reconnected them. No help. Has anyone else come
acrossthis problem and have any suggestions. Thanks for your help in this matter.

E7-11 on those machines usually translated to a HDD failure. Replace HDD and reinstall firmware to fix.

have you replaced the ccd unit ? how does the exposure lamp look.

Check the GAIN in simulation for the CCD. If it is up around 10, the CCD is the cause.

I try to clean mirrors, lamps, and all optics. Then I
use sim 63-2 and perform both glass and duplex.
If it completes OK then all is good.
