after addressing the firmware and 0/5 4532-4534 adjustments, we still get intermittent z fold jams usually on duplex only. the folded part of the copy has no image so it is happening before the drum. we have been chasing this problem around for quite a while. can anyone shed any light on this problem? thanks........

Re: tosh 556-656 z folds
Take a look at the white idler pulleys on the right doors. The grease will get thick, and those rollers will get difficult to turn. Take the door apart and clean the bushings and shafts, and apply a couple drops of light oil to each bushing. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hi,
Did you ever get to the bottom of this?
I also have one doing it?
Thanks

we still see this problem on occasion. make sure the duplex unit is turning freely, clean all rollers and check all idler rollers, replace 3 transport clutches on feed units if needed. replace black actuator on left side door, the lower one. even after doing all this you we still see the problem intermittently.Comment

Re: tosh 556-656 z folds
open the left side door , it's the lowest black actuator you see, on the door section. i think it's called the reverse section sensor. you get to it by removing the exit door cover. the soft black plastic actuator gets a flat spot on it and causes a timing problem.Comment

Re: tosh 556-656 z folds
there was a bad batch of sensors that Toshiba got from Sharp. If you look down from the top of the sensor you will see 3 tiny circles with a letter followed by 2 numbers. A18 is the defective lot. They are in 556 series,4540 series, finishers,6550 adfs, pretty much anything made between 2011 and 2013.. Its been a complete nightmare. A 4540c has almost 30 of these sensors and takes 8-10 hours to replace them all. They fail completely or work intermittently when dusty.Comment
